The following rules apply to the 2019 edition of the Manitoba Financial Services Agency (“MFSA”) Money Smart Manitoba Calendar Contest (“MSMC Contest”):
1) How to Enter
a. In order to be entered into the MSMC Contest, contestants who meet with eligibility requirements set out in these rules must submit a response to the contest question found at https://www.moneysmartmanitoba.ca/contests/.
b. The fields on the entry form marked with an asterisk are mandatory and must be completed in order for an entry to be valid.
c. No purchase is necessary to enter the MSMC Contest.
2) Contest Period and Eligibility
a. Contestants of the MSMC Contest must submit their response between January 1, 2019 and April 19, 2019 at 9:00 am CST when the MSMC Contest ends.
b. The MSMC Contest is open to all individuals who are Manitoba residents on the date their entry is submitted. Proof of residency will be requested and must be provided by winning contestants prior to being awarded a prize.
c. Staff of the MFSA and their immediate families are not eligible to enter. For the purposes of these rules “immediate family” includes parents, siblings, children, spouse, domestic partner, mother-in-law, and father-in-law, as well as anyone residing with any of the above.
d. Contestants must enter in the appropriate entry category, depending on their age at the time of entry. The categories are:
- 13 and under;
- 14 – 18; and
- 18 and over.
3) Contest winners under the age of 18 on the day that the prizes are awarded
Contest winners who are under the age of 18 on the day that the prizes are awarded must have a parent or guardian accompany them to claim their prize. The parent or guardian of the contestant who is under the age of 18 at the time of claiming their prize will be required to sign a declaration and release form on behalf of the contestant.
4) Only one entry per individual is permitted.
Multiple entries from the same individual will be disqualified from the MSMC Contest. All entries are subject to verification by MFSA. Proof of sending an entry will not be deemed proof of receipt.
On or about April 20, 2019, three winners will be selected by random draw from among each entry category listed in section 3(c) above. Each selected entry will be reviewed to confirm that it is valid and that all eligibility requirements are met. Where a selected entry is found to be not valid/ineligible, it will be discarded and a further entry will be selected and reviewed to confirm that it is valid. Prize winners will be awarded a Money Smart prize package containing: an android tablet, books, and money smart promotional material. The total prize is valued at approximately one hundred dollars ($100.00). The odds of winning depend on the total number of entries received. Prizes must be accepted as awarded. No substitutions will be made.
6) Notice to the winners
Each selected contestant will be notified by phone or by e-mail at the number or e-mail address provided in his/her entry within five (5) business days of the draw. Selected contestants must respond by phone or by e-mail within 72 hours of the notification.
Should a selected contestant not respond within 72 hours of the notification or fail to provide proof of eligibility, his/her entry may be declared null and void and another entry will be randomly selected from the remaining entries.
A selected contestant will not be declared a winner until he/she has: (i) completed, signed and returned the declaration and release documentation forwarded by MFSA within two (2) weeks of receiving them; (ii) otherwise complied with these contest rules; (iii) displayed proof of age and residency satisfactory to the MFSA.
9) Contest modifications

10) Acceptation of the conditions
By entering the MSMC Contest, contestants agree to accept, abide by and acknowledge compliance with these rules, including but not limited to all eligibility requirements. The decisions of MFSA are final and binding on all contestants with respect to all aspects of the MSMC Contest. The MSMC Contest is subject to all applicable federal, provincial and municipal laws. Void where prohibited.
